"The kitchen area for catering will be operated in mid-July. They will serve food and beverages to several managers, delegations, and staff in Palembang," Vice Chairman of INASGOC Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin noted here on last Friday.
Sjamsoeddin said the committee had also urged related parties to make preparations to ensure electricity and water supply as well as telecommunication services and internet connectivity.
The committee has also ensured the readiness of the athletes` housing and transportation facilities, as well as light rail transit (LRT).
"We have inspected the construction work, and we laud the developer and committee in Palembang," Sjamsoeddin stated.
He inspected the Athlete Village and several apartments to ensure that the housing requirements of athletes are met.
The committee is optimistic that the facilities would offer comfort to the athletes and delegations and boost the image of Palembang City.
He noted that trials for the LRT that will connect the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport are running well.
He expressed hope that all construction work carried out in the Jakabaring Sport City would be completed on August 1, 2018.
