Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coach of the Chinese Taipei volleyball men`s team Chen Yuan is pleased with a bronze medal after the team defeated Qatar, with a score 3-1, at the Tennis Indoor, Senayan, here, Saturday.

"We are happy with this bronze medal, as we have waited for 20 years since we won a bronze medal at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok," Chen noted after the Chinese Taipei match against Qatar.

Chen added that the performance of Chien-Chen Chen and his friends during this tournament was quite satisfactory, as they were able to compete with strong teams in the Asian region.

"The Chinese Taipei team has proven capable of showing off (its skills) in the tournament, and our struggle has yielded results," he remarked, adding that the key to success in winning the bronze medal in the men`s volleyball at the 2018 Asian Games was the application of the right strategy and strong motivation from the players to win a medal.

"This tournament is a high-level match, and to this end, we continue to inspire players in every game, and that plan works," Chen stated.

According to Chen, the team will rest before preparing for the next match at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
