Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Uzbekistan`s sambo athlete Kamoliddin Kholmamatov took home the gold medal after defeating his rival Umed Khasanbekov of Tajikistan in the men`s 90-kilogram category of the Asian Games 2018 Sambo event, with a score of 3.0, at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday.

Kholmamatov, who earlier won the match against Japanese representative Yasuke Sato in the round of 16, appeared consistent and was able to keep himself untouched by points.

It also happened in the final round, where he did not give space for his opponent to get points.

Instead, he was actually able to steal a point in the second minute of the five-minutes of the match. Kholmamatov obtained his first point after being able to do a kick that immediately produced 2 points on the scoreboard.

Entering the 4th minute, Kamoliddin was again able to add points to 3-0. This score lasted until the five minutes of the bout finally ended. *** 4 ***
