Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Social Affairs Ministry has prepared two to three thousand free tickets per day for persons with disabilities to watch sport events during the Asian Para Games (APG) 2018 scheduled in Jakarta on Oct 6-13.

"We will distribute two to three thousand free tickets per day for the disabled to support our athletes at the Asian Para Games," Social Affairs Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated here on Wednesday.

He noted that the ministry will also prepare transportation and lunch for them.

"We will cooperate with some communities of persons with disabilities to distribute the tickets," he noted.

The minister stated that the free tickets will be distributed to persons with disabilities in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Tangerang to allow them to support the Indonesian athletes in the competition.

The Social Affairs Ministry has encouraged Indonesia`s success as the host of the Asian Para Games 2018. The social affairs minister has been appointed as a deputy chairman of the Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018 Organizing Committee based on Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2016.

The ministry is tasked with offering training to coordinators of Asian Para Games volunteers and providing transportation for participants of the multi-sport event.

It will also provide information on APG to social institutions, monitor and evaluate amenities for the events, and provide facilities for persons with disabilities to watch the games.
