Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia finally won a gold medal in the eSports event at the 2018 Asian Games after athlete Ridel Isaiah Sumarandak emerged victorious in the Clash Royale division on Monday (Aug 27) in Jakarta, Tuesday.

ID BenZer Ridel, the 16-year-old teenager from North Sulawesi, successfully overthrew China`s top athlete, Lciop, with a score of 3-1.

Indonesia e-Sports Association, on a Twitter account, called on Sumarandak to qualify for the Clash Royale Grand Final of the Esports Demonstration Event through the winner bracket after defeating Vietnam 3-2.

Silver medals were won by China, while bronze was awarded to Vietnam.
